The Quest For Higher Knowledge...

As most of ya'll kno, I spent Mon-Weds in Chicago auditioning for grad schools. All in all, i think they went pretty well but here's a play-by-play of what happened each day...

Monday:
Arrived in Chi-Town arounf 8:30am
Checked in2 my hotel around 9
Chilled for a min
Ate lunch
Went to orientation for the first audition at 12:30pm
1st audition at 2:30pm
Found out I didn't get passed on to finals at 5:30pm
Got pep talks from the hubby and my boy J...ya'll are the best...J, it was wat I needed to hear...Dwayne, I dnt even remember what my life was like without you in my corner.
*note* for URTA, you go to a "American Idol-esque" audition for the 1st round where you just audition in front of 2 screeners...not the actual college recruiters. You have 3 mins to do both of your monologues, and if they like you, then the next day you get to audition in front of the recruiters.

Tuseday:
Went to Open-Call auditions
Made friends with all 6 black people that were there...lol
Auditioned...and did my thang...I must say...lol
Got a callback from Indidana University
Met with the recruiters from Indiana University...and was basically told that I should have been passed on to final auditions yesterday and that if they make me an offer and I accept it...they cover my tuition in full, plus they give me a $1,000 stipend per month.
*note* at the open-call, we have one-minute to deliver one of our monologues...the bad news is, all the schools that are recruiting aren't required to stay for the open calls...so only abt 6 out of the 22 schools that were there saw me.

Wednesday:
Went to my audition for A.C.T.{American Conservatory Theatre} at 9am...it went well...energy was high...the recruiters were nice
Did a "walk-in audition" for UCLA at 10am...best audition EVER!!!!!
Did a "walk-in audition" for USC at 11:30am...lowkey...I really liked them...they knew my teacher, the recruiter remembered me from his visit to my Acting I class 2 yrs ago...and my aunt is his boss:)...I'll be hearing from them by next Thursday.
Was on a plane back to ATL at 2pm

As I said before this was a great trip and overall a great experience. I would have to say that URTA was my least favorite experience...but at least I can say that I survived it. UCLA's audition was so great I really don't even care if I make it or not...buuuuuuuuuuut it would be nice to attend my moms alma mater. My first choice is A.C.T. and I really hope I make theirs....*fingers crossed*

I would like to thank E-V-E-R-Y-B-O-D-Y that wished me luck! It's too many of ya'll to name individually so if you hit me or you thought about me and wished me well THANK YOU. It meant so much!Thank you Ms. Bell for being the greatest coach ever! shoutout to Moon to for his help! Thank you MS.LEON{*r.i.p.*} for being the person that you were...I knoooooooo you were blessing me in the USC audition for sure!
